Shampoo Program (300 Hours)

The Shampoo Program is designed to prepare you for the state board licensing exam.
We offer training in shampooing and rinsing skills, so you’ll be ready for
entry-level employment in a salon or spa.

The training encompasses all phases of shampooing, including proper draping,
shampooing techniques, product application and rinses.

Opportunities for supervised practical work with the public are provided.

Your program hours will be divided as follows:

General Classes (100 Hours):
Sterilization, sanitation, bacteriology, anatomy,
physiology, shampooing, draping and hair and scalp massage.

Chemical Classes (50 Hours):
Chemistry and composition of shampoos
and conditioners, product knowledge, as well as EPA and OSHA requirements.

Physical Classes (150 Hours):
Hair and scalp massage, hair and scalp care,
shampooing and rinsing foreign matter from hair, shop management,
answering telephones, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies,
taking inventory and selling to clients
