Natural Hairstylist Program (300 Hours)

The Natural Hairstylist Program is designed to prepare you for the state board
licensing exam. We offer training in the application of hair extensions to natural
hair and practical applications, so you’ll be ready for entry-level employment
in a salon or spa.

The training encompasses all phases of natural hairstyling to include braiding,
sewing, gluing, weaving and crimping.

Opportunities for supervised practical work with the public are provided.

Your program hours will be divided as follows:

General Classes (100 Hours):
Sterilization, sanitation, bacteriology, shampooing,
draping, disorders of the hair and scalp, state laws and salon management.

Chemical Classes (20 Hours):
Chemistry and composition of products used,
as well as EPA and OSHA requirements.

Physical Classes (180 Hours):
Twisting, wrapping, extending, locking, braiding
and natural hairstyling, by hand or mechanical appliances.
