Financial Aid

Yes, Financial Aid IS Available!

Queen City College aims to provide every eligible student with the financial assistance needed to attend college.

All financial aid is awarded based on need, as determined by the Department of Education. Our financial aid officer determines your need based in part on an estimate of your costs for tuition, books, kits, transportation, housing, and personal expenses.

We offer Pell Grants, cash installment payments, and Veterans Administration Educational Benefits.

Federal Pell Grants

If you haven’t earned a bachelor’s or professional degree and you meet the government’s criteria, you are eligible to apply for this grant. Pell Grants usually do not have to be repaid. To apply, pick up an application from our financial aid officer or go to https://studentaid.gov/.

Loans

Student loans are LOANS from the Federal Government that must be repaid with interest. Prospective students may apply on-line at https://studentaid.gov/. We offer Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and Plus loans for parents. As with the Pell Grant, Title IV funding is based on eligibility requirements that apply to all of the Federal Student Aid (FSA) programs.

MyCAA

The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program (MyCAA) is a career development and employment assistance program sponsored by the Department of Defense (DOD). MyCAA helps military spouses pursue licenses, certificates, certifications or Associate’s Degrees (excluding General Studies and Liberal Arts) necessary for gainful employment in high demand, high growth Portable Career Fields and Occupations. Cash Installment Payments

All students are eligible for monthly interest-free cash payments toward their tuition. Payments may be extended over the length of your program. You will be required to sign an installment note and make prompt payments. The balance must be paid in full before graduation.

Veterans Administration Educational Benefits

A veteran wishing to apply to use their VA benefits must complete VA Form 22-1990. Please visit https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits/homepage or https://www.vets.gov/education/ for more information and eligibility requirements. After enrollment, if a student using VA benefits misses five consecutive days (or ten consecutive days with official military orders), his or her benefits will be canceled until regular attendance is acquired.

To retain your financial aid, you must meet the Satisfactory Progress Policy requirement and achieve at least 75 percent of the clock hours you attempt. You also must maintain the minimum grade point average for your program.

Enrollment verification: is a requirement for all VA Educational Beneficiaries using Chapter 33 (Post 911). Students are required to verify every month that you are still enrolled in the same training program that your school certified to VA.

Any covered individual will be able to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under chapter 31 or 33 (a “certificate of eligibility” can also include a “Statement of Benefits” obtained from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) website – eBenefits, or a VAF 28-1905 form for chapter 31 authorization purposes) and ending on the earlier of the following dates:

  1. The date on which payment from VA is made to the institution.
  2. 90 days after the date the institution certified tuition and fees following the receipt of the certificate of eligibility.

Queen City College, LLC will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under chapter 31 or 33.
